Solar Powering the World: Art and Science Beautifully Combined

Solar Energy is abundant, sustainable, and pollution free. We use this to power many things from calculators to our homes, yet we aren’t harnessing this resource to its full potential. What would it take to power the entire Earth with Solar Energy? The Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) looked into that for us and came up with this graphic:

Long story short, we would need to cover a land area about the size of Spain in order to power the entire Earth renewably. LAGI’s website says:

The strategic objective of the Land Art Generator Initiative is to advance the successful implementation of sustainable design solutions by integrating art and interdisciplinary creative processes into the conception of renewable energy infrastructure.

I bet gorgeous solar panel art installations could be placed all of the world combining the need to feed our artistic souls as well as practical functionality.
